The Bollywood Superstar Shahrukh Khan calls this movie as his ode to his fans across the world. The movie has all the flair of Shahrukh Khan - the intensity of his eyes, a revengeful face, etc. However the movie misses the chance to be the biggest blockbuster for Shahrukh this year. The movie has a cutting edge story where Gaurav (Shah Rukh Khan) is a die-hard fan and looks alike of superstar Aryan Khanna (Shah Rukh Khan). The 'Dilli' boy has grown up worshipping his idol - Aryan Khanna. He took his journey to Mumbai to meet his idol on his birthday only to return disappointed from his gate.
Such is his love for the star that is losing his sheen slowly that he decides to tackle a new upcoming star who had insulted Aryan Khanna in public. The act is condemned by the superstar sending Gaurav to jail which incites him to take revenge on the superstar.
The Director Maneesh Sharma fails to provide audience the real gripping action sequences and suspense in the movie, the movie ends up becoming all about superstar Shahrukh Khan. The movie is produced by Aditya Chopra, under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Fan was scheduled to release in early 2015, but owing to the injuries sustained by Khan during the filming of Happy New Year, the film's release date was postponed, first to August last year and finally to April this year. The movie hits the cinema theatres on 15th April.
Though Fan has received generally positive reviews from critics - However, if one compares with the Shah Rukh Khan's last release, Rohit Shetty's 'Dilwale', which had been able to cross the Rs 100-crore mark in India in just a week of its release, this movie seems to miss the mark by a huge mark.
