Kapil Sharma the comedy king of the screen is back with his brand new show. The rival channel Colors pitted 'Bajirao Mastani' against Sony TV's 'The Kapil Sharma Show'.

The much awaited comedy show titled The Kapil Sharma Show went onscreen on Saturday, April 23. The host of the show and stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma came back with his gang for a laughter riot.  Shah Rukh Khan became their first distinguish guest.

Kapil Sharma is joined by his colleagues Sumona Chakraborty, Kiku Sharda, Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar. Sony TV has reportedly spent approximately Rs 50 lakh just for the first promo of ‘The Kapil Sharma’ show. With the intention of getting the show closer to the audience, the first episode was shot in Delhi, with a live audience.

In the show, Kapil Sharma would reportedly play the character Kappu who is a jobless man. Ali Asgar would again be in grandma avatar but in a new way and that is a blind Nani. Sunil Grover will become Dr. Mushhoor Gulati. Sumona Chakravarti and Rochelle Maria Rao will be seen working in Dr. Mushhoor Gulati’s clinic. Chandan Prabhakar will be back as tea stall owner. Comedian Kiku Sharda will be seen in varied characters. The ex-cricketer and BJP politician Navjot Singh Sidhu will continue to be their permanent guest. Siddhu’s 'thoko', 'guru' and 'chaa gaya' have been an integral part of Kapil’s show.

The audiences were waiting eagerly to see the ace comedian Kapil Sharma’s return on stage, and their wait seems to be over now. The rival channel, Colors instead of running ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’ premiered the much acclaimed movie - Bajirao Mastani, on the same day at the same slot.
