Actress Karisma Kapoor and her antagonized businessman husband Sunjay Kapur have finally come to an agreement on the modalities of their separation before the Supreme Court. The couple has two kids, from their 13-year-old marriage. The modalities are being finalized in the Supreme Court. According to the agreement, their two children -- a son and a daughter-- Kiaan and Samaira -- will be with the actress, while Sunjay would get visitation rights.
The couple filed a mutual divorce petition in the family court in Mumbai in 2014 and disagreed on several issues before the final hearing in the case. The 41-year-old actress filed an FIR alleging harassment from her in-laws. The apex court in March, asked both parties to settle their differences amicably and appear on March 8 for a personal hearing.
A house in Mumbai belonging to Sanjay Kapur’s father has been transferred in Karisma’s name and also an amount of Rs 10 lakhs for the expenses of the children will be derived from the monthly interest of bonds worth Rs 14 crore purchased by Sanjay Kapur. The Supreme Court has repressed the FIR lodged by Karisma against her husband and in-laws. After the wedding in 2003, Karisma Kapoor and Sanjay Kapur had filed a mutual consent divorce petition back in 2014 and after washing much dirty linen in public, the couple soon began in Jan 2016 when Sanjay alleged that Karisma had married him for his money and on a rebound after breaking up with Abhishek Bachchan - "in a calculated and clinical manner, sponged off his family to pursue a lavish lifestyle”, claimed the Delhi-based industrialist Sunjay in his petition filed in the Bandra family court - While, the actor also retaliated in February 2016, by filing a police complaint against Sanjay and his mother - charging them of mental harassment over dowry.
As things stand today, the couple seems to have finally put everything behind them to mutually agree on the modalities for a separation before the Supreme Court.
