Saina Nehwal at the Badminton World Championship in Jakarta on Saturday.

Saina Nehwal won over Lindaweni Fanateri in 21-17, in the last four to make it up to her first finals of the Badminton World Championship in Jakarta on Saturday.
With her victory, Saina became the first Indian ever to make it to the final of the World Championship.
Lindaweni Fanateri playing with a strapping on her right knee gave Saina a tough fight. Involved in long rallies, it turned out to be a tight match at the Gelora Bung Karno stadium.
Lindaweni had issues with her knee but never gave up. The Indonesian player tried to come up with acute angled shots that troubled Saina.
Saina and Lindaweni moved neck to neck all through out the match.
Saina will face World No.1 Carolina Marin of Spain in the final clash. Saina last faced her in the final of the All England Badminton Championship earlier this year.
It would be India's fifth medal at the World Championship. It was P.V. Sidhu who brought the bronze title home twice in 2013 and 2014. Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa had grabbed a bronze in women's doubles at 2011 edition.
Saina Nehwal, who has bagged around 20 International titles including Olympics bronze, was unfortunate at the times of the World Championships. She was laid low by some off-court problems. She was diagnosed with chicken -pox and stomach -bug later.
Even before this World's tournament, she was suffering from shoulder issues, but she did not allow that to overpower her game.
