Ms. Priyadarshini Chatterjee from Guwahati, Assam, won the Miss India pageant and is set to represent India at Miss World 2016. Ms. Sushruthi Krishna from Mumbai was the first runner-up and Ms. Pankhuri Gidwani from Uttar Pardesh was the second runner-up. Priyadarshini was given the crown by the former 2015 winner Aditi Arya.
Ms. Priyadarshini will now represent India at the international platform of Miss World 2016, while the rest two will take part in Miss International 2016 and Miss Grand International beauty pageant 2016. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at Hindu College, Delhi and is an alumnus of Maria Paublic School, Guwahati. She is presently working as a freelance model, with interests in dance, theatre, travelling and trekking.
The Miss India pageant 2016 was held on Saturday (9th April) at the Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. Bollywood stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, Shahid Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor performed at the event.
