Nurse Sunu Sathyan and her 18-month-old son were killed in a rocket attack on their apartment in a town near the Libyan capital. Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj announced the tragedy in a tweet. "I have received report regarding the death of an Indian nurse and her infant son in Libya… This happened in Zawiya, 45 km from Tripoli", Indian MEA Mrs. Sushma Swaraj tweeted.
The minister also renewed her call to Indians abroad to move out of conflict zones. "We have issued advisories many times. I request you once again - please move out of the conflict zones”, Mrs. Swaraj said in another tweet.
Reports say Sathyan’s husband her husband Vipin was outside when the attack took place. It was not immediately clear who fired the rocket.
Sunu and Vipin had left for Libya after their marriage in 2012.
Libya’s chaos five years is continuing, ever since the uprising that ousted and killed the autocrat Moammar Gadhafi, the once-prosperous country is presently in ruins, fiercely divided and ruled by an internationally recognized government.
