Information and Broadcasting (I&B) ministry celebrated the film making process each year by awarding National Awards, releasing the list of winners for 63rd Annual Awards.

Last year witnessed movies of different genres being appreciated by the critics and making big at the silver screen. The 63rd National Awards list was announced by the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) ministry on 28th March.

The mega star Amitabh Bachchan was conferred the Best Actor award for his role in the movie Piku. This is the fourth National Award for the Padma Vibhushan recipient Amitabh Bachchan.

Kangana Ranaut garnered compliments for her movie Tanu weds Manu last year was awarded the Best Actress award. This is the third national Award for Kangana under different categories, she has been the recipient of three National Film Awards: Best Supporting Actress for Fashion (2008) and Best Actress for Queen (2014) and Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015).

Best Film was awarded to highest box office grosser of last year Baahubali.Bajrangi Bhaijaan was awarded in the Popular Film category.Best Director went to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Baijirao Mastani.Best Supporting Actor: Samuthirakani for  VisaaranaiBest Supporting Actress:Tanvi Azmi, Bajirao MastaniBest Hindi Film: Dum Laga Ke HaishaBest Choreography: Remo D'Souza, Deewani Mastani song in Bajirao MastaniBest Female Playback Singer: Monali Thakur, MohMoh Ke DhageBest Male Playback Singer: Mahesh Kale for songs from ‘Katyar Kaljjat Ghusali

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

National awards were also conferred to regional language movies of all the popular languages. The list also includes different categories for technicians to honour their contribution to cinema in the year 2015.

The 63rd National Film Awards is the ceremony during which the India’s Directorate of Film Festivals (DoFF) presents its annual National Film Awards to honour the best films of 2015 in the Indian cinema. Since the awards have been announced now, a related ceremony will be held on 3 May 2016.
