Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar, 42, got hitched to a Kashmiri businessman and model Mohsin Akhtar in a secret affair in Mumbai.
The Rangeela girl married her Kashmiri boyfriend in a traditional Hindu ceremony and is planning to have a ‘nikah’ ceremony soon. She sparkled on her wedding day in a Manish Malhotra designed lehenga, her fiancé Mohsin looked charming in a Sherwani.
The wedding was a low-key affair, attended by close friends and family with Manish Malhotra being the only exception from glamour world.
After the wedding the announcement to the media was done where Urmila said “We kept it an exclusive wedding with just family and friends at the celebration. Since our families wanted the wedding to be a low-key affair. We mutually decided to keep it private. We seek your blessings on embarking this new journey of our lives”.
Urmila started in the industry as a child actor; her first role as a child artist was in 1977 in the movie Karm. Ever since then, she has also done movies in several languages. During the 1990s and early 2000s, Urmila even garnered critical praise for portraying a range of intense, psychological characters. Her film roles contributed to a then-new screen persona for a Hindi film heroine, in which she was popular for her intense style and dancing skills. She hit the pinnacle of her success with the movie Rangeela, Daud and Satya. However, she has been out of spotlight and the media glare for a while with her last release being an animated film Delhi Safari in 2012.
