Sikh wedding stopped at UK Gurudwara

Nearly 20 people walked into the Southhall Gurudwara and forcibly stopped the proceedings of an inter-faith wedding, of a Sikh bride and a Non-Sikh groom, last weekend.
The members of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara said that these men opposed 'inter- faith marriage ' and asked the couple to cancel the wedding.
'A group of 22 people arrived shortly after 8 a.m. They were all thugs. None of them were recognised by any of the Sikh groups here', quoted Sohan Singh Sumra, Vice- President of the Gurudwara.
Sumra said that they had initially got a call to stop the wedding, but the bride's family had no objections and gave a go- ahead, when they were contacted by the Gurudwara.
'We had a meeting with local temples because we do not want anything like that happening to any other couples', said Sumra.
