Indian all rounder Ravindra Jadeja, also popularly known as Sir Ravindra Jadeja, since an online joke calling him the same went viral, recently got engaged to a mechanical engineer Reeva Solanki in a glittering ceremony held in Rajkot, Gujarat.
"It was my dream, and I am very thankful to my God that my dream is accomplished," Jadeja beamed. The ring ceremony was held at his own restaurant 'Jaddu's Food Field' located in Rajkot, Gujarat. The engagement ceremony was held in presence of selected invitees at Jadeja's own restaurant and the cricketer expressed hope that lady luck would help him do better in both cricket and personal life. "In the game of cricket luck plays an important role and when I got engaged to Reeva, I hope that lady luck will help me to do better in both cricketing life and personal life", said the jubilant Jadeja.
The cricketer said he had not made up his mind on the date of his marriage "since my upcoming schedule is very tight". However, he added that he was keen on an early marriage. "I am 26 and I have been alone till now. It makes no sense to continue to be single any longer," the cricketer was candid.
Even the fiancé Reeva was also candid in admitting that she didn't follow cricket. "Frankly speaking, I didn't use to watch cricket earlier but when all these things are going on, I do watch it now". Later, when asked how it felt to be engaged to a celebrity, Reeva was confident, "I am not marrying to a celebrity. Since we are in a relation now, he is not a celebrity for me. Personally speaking, he is very kind and generous".
The fiancé Reeva has completed her engineering degree at Atmiya College and is now preparing for UPSC examination in Delhi. Her mother Prafullaba Solanki is an Indian Railway employee while her father is a businessman.
It has been a season of marriages and engagements in the Indian camp with players like Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, R Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik and Harbhajan Singh tying the knot with their respective love interests last year. Recently, Indian pacer Varun Aaron also married childhood sweetheart Ragini in Jamshedpur. World Cup winning all-rounder Yuvraj Singh also got engaged to Bollywood actor Hazel Keech in Bali in November last year and the duo are expected to tie the knot this year. Another Cricketer Mohit Sharma also announced his engagement to girlfriend Shweta in January.
