Real Poseidon, that’s what India’s first underwater restaurant is called as, is named after the Greek God of the seas. This 32-seater restaurant is situated 20 feet below ground level with has a huge aquarium overhead that is filled with around 4,000 different species of fish and other species in it.
An Ahmedabad-based businessmen, Bharat Bhatt, conceived this entire concept while talking to his son about it and brought it to life within 2 years. The restaurant offers a variety of cuisines ranging from Thai and Mexican to Chinese and Indian food. However, it might be a little disappointing for the non- vegetarian lovers as it offers only vegetarian palate. But the view is more than enough for an experience of a lifetime.
However, as per the media reports the Real Poseidon has been officially sealed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) after certain permissions were not approved. The restaurant was launched on 1 February, and was sealed on 3 February.
“There has been some leakage in the restaurant and it has been temporarily shut down for maintenance. We are trying to solve the issue so we are not taking any bookings now. The restaurant will reopen soon”, informed Bharat Bhatt, owner of India first ever-underwater restaurant.
