Following the footsteps of the present Indian coach Ravi Shastri, Sanjay Bangar, R Sridhar and Bharat Arun, it is now turn for Sridharan Sriram, an ex-Indian cricketer and coach with the BCCI to achieve a new dimension in his life. Recently, he has made his way as a coaching consultant of the Australian cricket team for their test series with Bangladesh in October 2015.
Sriram Sridharan will join along with the former Australian cricketer Mike Hussey as coaching consultants as the Australian side prepares for the upcoming for the upcoming World Cup in India in March-April next year. The Indian ex-cricketer is expected to pass on his skills and expertise regarding subcontinent conditions and prepare the team to adjust to the opponents and situations quickly.
He has served as an assistant coach of Delhi Daredevils and had worked with the Australia A squad that toured India in 2015. Recently, he was named as a coaching consultant of the Australian cricket team for Test series in Bangladesh.
“I’ve played international cricket for India and I’m looking forward to sharing my experience and knowledge with the squad", Sriram said.
Australia has earlier hired Sri Lanka’s premier ex-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, as their coaching consultant for the Test series against Pakistan in the UAE.
The appointment is seen as a new chapter in S Sriram’s life, who is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm orthodox spin bowler.
