Veteran Communist Party of India (CPI) leader A.B. Bardhan, 92, passed away on Saturday (2nd January) in New Delhi.
The veteran CPI leader A.B. Bardhan was undergoing treatment at G B Pant Hospital following a paralytic stroke last month.
Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan, commonly known as A.B. Bardhan has been a prominent figure of the trade union movement and Left politics in India. He was one of the leading faces of the Left leadership in India and played a key role in maintaining the space for Communists in the domestic politics.
He also served as General Secretary of CPI. He also became the President of the All India Trade Union Congress, the oldest trade union in India.
