The Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is set to return to the big screen after a hiatus of almost six years. He is all set to play the villain in ‘Robot-2’. The earlier part of the sequel, Robot has made a tremendous business and now the second part is coming.
The 48-year-old martial artist star, is reported to play a villain in the movie Robot-2, a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Robot (Enthiran), directed by S. Shankar. The movie, which has begun filming, is being shot in 3D and will be released in Tamil and Hindi in 2017.
Robot-2 is rumoured to be among the most expensive Indian films ever made with an estimated budget of $40 million. The pair of legendary super star Rajinikanth and the fine experimental director of south film industry Shankar, are coming back with a second part of the movie. Rajinikanth will star alongside Akshay, who confirmed the news of Twitter for his fans.
“Ending the year on a high note. Super excited to be a part of Robot 2 with the one & only @superstarrajini sir!”, Akshay wrote.
Other works in the pipeline for Akshay Kumar include the 2016 release of the movie Airlift, a thriller set in Kuwait during the Gulf War.
