Aditi Chauhan has created history as she became the first Indian woman to win the Women in Football Award at the third Asian Football Awards in London

India’s Aditi Chauhan, 23, has won the Woman in Football Award at the third Asian Football Awards in London.  Recently, she also became the first Indian to feature in an FA Women’s Premier League Club, in England when she signed for West Ham Ladies. Aditi plays goalkeeper for West Ham Ladies in England’s FA Women’s Premier League.

Expressing her happiness, the woman goalkeeper said, "What is happening for the past few months has been surreal". "We never thought she will reach such heights playing a sport which is male dominated. It's just a dream come true for us," said Shivani Chauhan, Aditi's mother.

Aditi last represented India in the Asian Games in Incheon last year.
