Veteran music director Ravindra Jain, 71, died at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. He expired on October 9th, 2015 from multiple organ failure.
Ravindra Jain was an Indian music composer and lyricist. He was a well respected figure, and considered a role model for several, as he successfully overcame his disability of blindness. Jain’s music in the famous TV serial, Ramayana, has found overwhelming appreciation with a TV-viewing India during 80’s. He won the prestigious Indian Filmfare Best Music Director Award in 1985.
Some of his noticeable film tracks include Akhiyon Ke Jharokhe Se, Geet gata chal, Gori tera gaon bada pyaara, Chithi aie hain aie, Le jayenge Le jayenge dilwale dulhaniya Le jayenge, Jab deep jale aana, etc.
Several Bollywood celebrities including Lata Mangeshkar, Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor, etc. have mourned the tragic demise of renowned music director Ravindra Jain calling it a great loss to the Indian music industry. Lata Mangeshkar, expressing her grief over the said demise of the veteran music director, tweeted, “It's very sad news, great singer, poet Ravindra Jain ji passed away today. May his soul rest in peace”.
