Maharajas’ Express bags global luxury award
The Maharaja Express, an Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) operated luxury train is recently conferred with the coveted 'Seven Star Global Luxury Award' in Indonesia. The luxury train offers tour on the five circuits, covering various tourist destinations across north-west and central India, such as Balasinor, Khajuraho, Bikaner, Jaipur, Agra, Varanasi, etc.
The award, launched in 2013, is provided for excellence in the ‘field of hospitality’.
All its carriages of the luxury train offer facilities such as live televisions, DVD players, WiFi Internet, individual temperature control, attached bathroom and water filtration plant, besides round the clock valet services, and paramedic facilities. With this international acclamation, the Maharajas Express has strengthened its brand as the world’s leading luxury train.
According to Dr. A K Manocha, Chairman and Managing Director, IRCTC, “By bagging the Seven Star Luxury Award, the Maharajas’ Express has cemented its brand and reputation as ‘The World’s leading Luxury Train’. It is truly a special award that will bolster the reputation of the train internationally”.
The Maharaja Express beats other internationally renowned luxury locomotives including the Rocky Mountaineer (Canada), Rovos Rail (South Africa), Ferrari World (Abu Dhabi), Bali Food Safari (Bali), and The Deccan Odyssey (India), among others to grab the prestigious award.
This luxury train is operational between the tourist months of October and April.
