Sarpreet Singh, 20, has become the first player of Indian origin to have been signed by the German football club, Bayern Munich. The Indian- origin player is a New Zealand professional footballer who currently plays as an attacking midfielder for Bayern Munich II and the New Zealand national football team.
Born in New Zealand to Indian parents, Singh played for Onehunga Sports in his youth before signing for Wellington Phoenix in 2015. Sarpreet has received his footballing education at the Wellington Phoenix academy and rose through the ranks to feature in the first team, making 28 appearances in the 2018/19 season.
Importantly, he has signed for Bayern's youth side on a three-year deal; with a view of him being a member of their first team should performances go well.
