Bodybuilding is considered as a men’s sport. There are also a few Indian men who have made to the final stages of the World bodybuilding competitions. But this time a female Indian body builder, Bhumika Sharma, 21, from Dehradun, Uttrakand has made India proud by winning the Miss World bodybuilding title in Venice, Italy.
She made India proud after acing all the important rounds. She gained the maximum number of points in body posing, individual posing and fall category.
Importantly, she coming from a humble background had to struggle a lot to achieve this success. Her father, Vishwavijay Sharma is a businessman and mother, Hansa Manral Sharma is the head coach of the Indian’s weightlifting team. Her parents wanted her to be a shooter but fate had something else in store for her. Bodybuilding was also not her original choice, then. Three years ago, during a shooting event in New Delhi, she had a chance of meeting with a bodybuilding coach which changed her life. Her coach, Bhupendra Sharma checks that she remains impressive. Bhumika had to face hardship in convincing her parents who finally gave her permission to continue her passion.
Bhumika has now planned to win the Miss Universe title for Bodybuilding. She is the only woman bodybuilder for India who has bagged the award at such an international arena.
