The renowned Australian fast bowler, Shaun Tait, 34, has recently been granted the status of an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). He publicized this news through his twitter account by posting a picture of his OCI passport.
Importantly, Tait’s marriage with the Indian model Mashoom Singha had surfaced in the year 2014. He had been dating her since 2010, while playing for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). They dated for four years before eventually tying the knot. Infact, it was the same year 2010, in which the tear-away pacer, had clocked the second fastest delivery in the history of the game at a speed of 161.1 kph. After the 2011 world cup, which took place in India, he retired from the ODI’s, however he sustained playing in the Big Bash League.
As per the International Cricket Council’s rules a player needs to wait for minimum four years after playing his last international match to represent another country. So, he can now apparently even play for India in the future.
