Indian model Lopamudra Raut becomes the 2nd Runner-up at Miss United Continents held in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Lopamudra Raut, a 24-year-old, Indian model was crowned 2nd runner up, at Miss United Continents 2016 pageant held in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Over 30 participants from America, Asia, Europe and Africa participated in the beauty contest.  

 "I won the Miss Intellectual and Miss Body Beautiful in the Femina Miss India Goa 2013 regional pageant. Then, I bagged the Miss Body Beautiful, Miss Adventurous and Miss Awesome Legs sub-titles in Femina Miss India 2013. I was among the top four in Femina Miss India 2014 and received the Miss Body Beautiful title again. Being referred to as 'India' on a global platform is a matter of pride for me and I feel honoured to have the opportunity now", said the Indian contestant.

Lopamudra received a cash prize of $15,000. She also won the Best National costume sub-contest which was designed by Melvyn Noronha. In 2015, Sushrii Shreya Mishraa was placed as the 3rd runner up, whereas in 2014, India's Gail Nicole Da Silva won the 1st runner-up spot in the contest.

Jesslyn Santos, 23, from the Philippines won the Miss United Continents 2016 title. She becomes the first Asian to win this title.
