A 35-year old NRI Sukhjeet Singh, who hailed from a small town of Banda, in Uttar Pradesh (UP), was found dead at his residence. His 10-year-old son was sleeping beside him at the time of the incident. He had absolutely no clue about the murder. The victim dead body was found on the charpoy placed in the verandah.
The house was locked from inside at the time of the incident, and no FIR was registered according to the superintendent of police (SP), R. K. Bhartiya. So it is of the opinion that the murder might be by close ones of the family. But according to his relatives he had no enmity with anyone and he shared happy relations with almost everyone.
Singh was running a transport business in Derby and has been living in the UK for nearly 10 years. He was married to British-resident Ramandeep Kaur and had two sons.
He came along with his wife and his two sons and they reached India on 28th July, 2016 and spend few days in Delhi and then left to his town. He was on a visit to his mother to his inherited house.
According to the senior officials and forensic experts, the family was required to postpone their return to Derby from August 31 to September 6 till they finish their interrogation.
