Movie review Happy Bhag Jayegi pardesi news 1473402227

The movie handles a complex Indo-Pak issue, with comic overtones.

Movie Happy Bhag Jayegi is a romantic comedy film which features Abhay Deol, Diana Penty, Ali Fazal, Jimmy Shergill, Piyush Mishra, Momal Shiekh in lead roles. It is directed by Mudassar Aziz and Produced by Anand L Rai and Krishika Lulla. The film has some songs like “Gabru Ready To Mingle Hai” sung by Mika and he also has a special appearance in this movie.

The movie is about a girl from Amritsar named Happy (Diana Penty). She tries to escape from her wedding as she wants to marry her musician boyfriend Guddu (Ali Fazal). But by mistake she lands up in Lahore at Bilal Ahmed’s (Abhay  Deol’s) place. She somehow convinces Bilal and tries to reach out to Guddu. Bagga (Jimmy Shergill) who wanted to marry Happy comes to know about her and tries to kidnap and marry her. But he was totally clueless that they were helped by Bilal Ahmed.

The movie has many funny incidents, some of which are around Indo-Pak interaction. The story seems to have some overlap with “Ranjhana” and “Tanu Weds Manu”. However, the film begins well but soon the laughs are few and far between. In nutshell, it is a comedy movie, which loses the plot.
