Members of the Sikh community have voted to elect new leaders of one of the largest gurudwaras in the US. The Sikh temple was initially run by court and certain internal powers.
The voting was held in San Jose gurudwara in California, where 6,802 registered voters gathered to cast their vote.A superior court judge had ordered to hold elections in order to resolve the issue between two Sikh groups with different agendas. “The people are showing up to speak their minds again. This is a good day for everyone here”, Summan Tersen Singh said.

Each group had 21 candidates for a new committee while two others ran as independent.
“Everybody can see what we have done and they like it”, Pritam Singh Grewal, a steering committee candidate quoted.
