A Dubai billionaire has pledged to employ thousands Indians left unemployed in Saudi Arabia. Ravi Pillai, chairman and managing director of RP Group of Companies, said he will employ approximately 3,000 of his countrymen. Importantly, his decision is considered as a response to the appeal of India’s Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj’s to assist Indian citizens living in Saudi Arabia. The Dubai based billionaire said as a mark of support his companies are ready to recruit approximately 3,000 workers who are skilled in a mechanical trade.
The RP Group of Companies employs 85,000 workers in various projects and they are announcing the details for recruitment including the email and contact numbers of their offices in Saudi Arabia. Mr Pillai said workers can contact his office and they will explore opportunities to accommodate even more of the unemployed workers in his companies.
VK Singh, India’s Deputy Minister of External Affairs is slated to visit Saudi Arabia in a bid to resolve the impending issue concerning the Indian expats in Saudi Arabia. Another Indian Minister of State for External Affairs M J Akbar announced that the Saudi authorities have assured that exit visas of affected Indian workers will be processed and their wage claims considered.
