A 31-year-old Indian woman, Supraja Srinivas and her four-month-old son Shrihan have died after she allegedly jumped from the balcony of their high-rise apartment in Melbourne with her babe in arms.
Their bodies were found in the atrium of the 29-storey apartment building. Ms Srinivas' husband, Gannaram Srinivas, an IT engineer who works with Tech Mahindra, collapsed at the scene and was admitted to hospital after discovering his son and wife were dead.
Police are probing the possibility she was suffering from post-natal depression in what they believe was a murder-suicide. However, it is yet to be ascertained that she committed suicide or she and the baby could have fallen from an internal balcony.
The couple also has a 5-year-old daughter.
