The 'Chaar Botal Vodka' singer came out in the open about his bipolar disorder, a mental illness characterized by periods of depression and periods of elevated mood. It was due to troubles such as that which lead to his replacement by figures such as ‘Badshah’ and ‘Raftaar’ in his songs.
He has made it very evident that it is because of the team of specialized doctors he was able to face his illness and ultimately cure it. Honey Singh was not shy to admit that his doctors have not healed him just physically but also mentally. He was constantly monitored by them and they all took very good care of him. His illness made it difficult for him to even face his family and he used to have ballistic mood swings. The singing superstar had disappeared for a long period of time at the peak of his career, battling with the disorder in him.
"I know there were rumors that I was in rehab (for drug overdose), but I was in my Noida house throughout,” quoted Singh.
The treatment went on for 18 months and it must have taken a lot of patience to deal with such a patient. He was also suffering from alcoholism, which only aggravated his mental condition.
