Gaurav Sachan, 31, an Indian-origin Web expert, who worked as digital head for home improvement firm ‘Alison At Home’, is accused of stealing approximately 100,000 pounds from celebrity interior designer Alison Cork, who launched home improvement business in 2012.
The fraud reportedly happened between March and December 2014 by moving cash via PayPal accounts. Gaurav helped divert the funds into someone else's account by allegedly altering the account details held in the firm's name. His plea has been accepted by the prosecutors.
The company reportedly has a history of fraud employees, as last year another accounts manager at the business was also jailed under the same charges. Abeyomi Ogunagbadaro, 45, was given a 16-month sentence for embezzling the cash and then laundering it via two of his friends' bank accounts, although his fraud came to light after his termination from the company, due to poor performance.
