A notorious Indo-Canadian gangster was gunned down in broad daylight in Toronto, Canada.

A Punjabi-origin gangster, Sukhvir Singh Deo, 34, was gunned down in broad daylight in Toronto, Canada. Sukhvir, who was shot while he was inside a white Range Rover, was facing drug and proceeds-of-crime charges in Ontario.

While Sukhvir lived in Metro Vancouver and was aligned with the Independent Soldiers gang that indulged in illicit drug trade too, his father, Parminder Singh Deo ‘Pindi’, is wanted in Punjab in a drug case.  Sukhvir’s father has a Red Corner notice against him by the Interpol.

Several other members of the Deo family, were well-known to police in Metro Vancouver. His brother Harjit Singh Deo was also convicted in 2007 for a 2005 kidnapping for ransom case, in which the victim was held inside the Deo family home in New Westminster.

The family nexus allegedly bought pseudo ephedrine from an alleged factory based in Amritsar, Punjab in order to produce drugs and sell them in Canada.

Police said the murder does appear to be targeted and investigation into the case is underway.
