India-origin gynecologist in UK, Dr Mahesh Patwardhan, 53, is on trial for allegedly groping 6 female patients including a mother of two. These women were treated by the accused doctor at his National Health Service (NHS) clinic at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in south London. They have lodged a complaint about his approaches and methods and he was also reported to the UK's General Medical Council (GMC). He was accused of rubbing himself against women, and telling one woman to strip, after he quizzed her about her sex life.
The accused doctor possesses singing as hobby is a founder-member and singer of an all-doctor group called ‘Medico Melodies’, a charity group. He has also performed in a number of stage shows across the UK.
However, the gynecologist disagrees to all charges of sexual assault that reportedly occurred between July 2008 and September 2012 and also claims them as fraud. The trial against the NRI doctor is ongoing in Woolwich Crown Court, UK and is expected to be concluded shortly.
