Birthplace of Khalsa, Sri Anandpur Sahib, to make a mark on the Global Tourism Map.

The Government of Punjab has decided to take up an initiative and project Sri Anandpur Sahib on Global Tourism Map.

A meeting was chaired by Minister Parkash Singh Badal at Punjab Bhawan to take a decision on the same issue. This meeting was conducted to discuss the various issues related to the development of Kandi belt comprising Hoshiarpur, Ropar and SAS Nagar (Mohali) districts.

Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra took up the initiative of showcasing the holy city of Sri Anandpur Sahib as India's most sought after tourist place at global level.
He said that the State Government had the construction of a 3-star hotel in the vicinity of Sri Anandpur Sahib. Other than this, the state-of-the-art tourist information centre would also come up at Sri Anandpur Sahib.

The Chief Minister asked the Chief Administrator GMADA to conduct a detailed study on the technical and financial aspects for setting up recreation centres in the parks of SAS Nagar Mohali.
