Finally the court will break the deadlock, which has threatened to snowball into a massive furore in the domestic wrestling world.

The two-time Olympic medallist Sushil, 32, has moved the Delhi High court against Narsingh Pancham Yadav as last resort, since the trials in the contentious 74kg freestyle category are not called by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). The two-time Olympic medallist has already taken the matter to the doorsteps of Prime Minister's Office but is yet to get a response from the government.

The WFI has put the onus of holding a selection trial to choose between Sushil Kumar and Narsingh Pancham Yadav for this year's Olympic Games on the Government, saying the WFI alone cannot decide on the "sensitive matter".

The Delhi High court will hear the plea on May 17, 2016.

Presently, Narsingh Pancham Yadav has been included in the men's 74kg freestyle division for the camp as he had acquired the berth at the World Championship last year, while Sushil's name does not figure.
