The actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan is all set to back one of his most loved characters from yesteryear in his next yet-untitled trilingual project, which was officially launched in April, 2016.
Billed as a full-fledged comedy interspersed with occasional action sequences, the movie will feature Kamal Haasan and his daughter Shruti as father-daughter for the first time on screen. Along with the veteran comedian Brahmanandam, actors such as Shruti Haasan, Ramya Krishnan, Amala Akkineni and Saurabh Shukla too will be seen in important roles. Saurabh Shukla will reprise the role of Brahmanandam in Hindi, while the film also has Ramya Krishnan in a main role. Jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Raaj Kamal Films International, the movie will be directed by Malayalam filmmaker TK Rajeev Kumar. The movie is said to start the shoot in May and will wrap up by July, 2016. The crew is heading to the US on May 14th, 2016 to start filming for the project.
In the recent inaugural event poster of the film, the filmmakers captioned it ‘Meendum Varuvathu Yaarendru Therigiratha’ (Look, who is coming back?) A majority of the film will reportedly be shot in the US, besides some scenes in India. Maestro Ilaiyaraaja has been roped in to compose the tunes. The musical-maestro Ilaiyaraaja, after a decade-long gap, is joining hands with Kamal Haasan for the trilingual film. Kamal said that Ilaiyaraaja will be the one to suggest the Tamil title for the film while he Hindi title will be suggested by Saurabh Shukla.
