After the success of the first-ever 'Uttar Pradesh Pravasi Diwas' (UPPD) held this year in January at Agra, the UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has recently announced that the second conference will be held in January next year.
Last convention welcomed lot of investments by the NRI’s in the state among them was the Yusuff Ali, the Kerala-born businessman and managing director of the Abu Dhabi-based EMKE LuLu Group, who pledged to invest 1,000 crores in the state capital Lucknow. He announced building a business convention and shopping center in the city.
Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan will head the team was constituted to select from eminent industrial organisations such as FICCI, CII, Phd Chamber of Commerce and Assocham India as the alliance partner for the event. Importantly, UP, India’s largest state and home to roughly a sixth of the country’s population, is making a massive push to involve people of UP origin living all across the world in the state’s development through its NRI Department.
Events like these are planned to strengthen the bond between the NRI’s and the locals, also forging a personal relationship which will benefit the state economically and socially.
