The Bollywood ‘Badshah’ Shahrukh Khan has recently applauded the Indian PM Narender Modi’s ‘Make- in-India’ initiative, terming it as one of the most important program launched by the Prime Minister creating job opportunities for the younger workforce.
Shah Rukh, 50, was speaking at the launch of BJP leader Shaina NC’s coffee table book, ‘Movers and Makers’ which is a tribute to the ‘Make- in-India’ initiative. Importantly, the campaign aims to promote India as a manufacturing base for Indian as well as International companies.
“Make- in-India is perhaps the single most important initiative by our honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which propels companies in India and abroad to make it in our own country and our own land, thereby creating job opportunities, skill enhancement,” said the actor, also adding "for me, the biggest turn on is the introduction of new technology, which I believe is going to create a new era for our generation and generations to come".
Maharashtra Chief Minister DevendraFadnavis who was also in attendance to the book launching event termed the book as the best documentation of the seven-day event, ‘Make-in-India Week’, held in Mumbai in February this year and said he became nostalgic while reading the book.
'This is the Step of a Lion', the Indian PM Modi has once famously commented, while launching the initiative last year. Importantly, the logo of the campaign portrays a striding lion made of cogs, symbolising manufacturing, strength and national pride. The recent good financial performance and the worldwide accreditations are proving him right and providing him the much appreciated PAT.
